Diyaluma Falls
Sri Lanka’s second highest waterfall, famous for its stunning infinity pools, cliffside views, and adventurous natural swimming spots in the Badulla district.
About Diyaluma Falls
Diyaluma Falls is the second highest waterfall in Sri Lanka, standing at approximately 220 meters. Located in the Badulla district near Koslanda, it is one of the most breathtaking natural attractions in the country.
The waterfall is famous not only for its powerful drop but also for its natural infinity pools located at the upper section. These rock pools are formed by centuries of water erosion, creating smooth stone basins filled with crystal-clear flowing water.
Water flows continuously from the upper mountain streams, and during the rainy season, the waterfall becomes significantly stronger, feeding both the main fall and the natural pools. In dry months, the flow reduces but the pools remain safe and calm for bathing.
The upper section of Diyaluma requires a short hike, but it rewards visitors with panoramic cliff views and multiple natural pools ideal for swimming and photography. The lower section can be viewed directly from the main road.
Due to its combination of adventure, scenic beauty, and safe natural pools, Diyaluma Falls is considered one of Sri Lanka’s top waterfall destinations for both local and international travelers.
